Job summary

Avery Healthcare Group is seeking a Registered Nurse for night shifts at Spencer House Care Home in Northampton. You will act as person in charge when needed, ensuring high standards of care for residents and supporting the on-site team.

Requirements include a First Level qualification and current NMC registration, with at least 2 years’ experience. DBS check will be required and eligibility to work in the UK must be demonstrated.

Qualifications

• Post-basic studies/qualification encouraged.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to instruct and demonstrate care.

Responsibilities

• Distribute medication, dressings, catheterisation and tube feeding; manage chronic conditions.
• Advise families and GPs of changes in residents’ condition and involve them in care decisions.
• Supervise care team duties during shifts to ensure residents receive required care.
• Provide high standards of care through accurate assessment and care planning.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Your focus as a Registered Nurse will be to act as person in charge, standing in for the Manager as required and observe all instructions to act upon his/her behalf whilst you ensure high standardsof care toourresidents.

Other responsibilities will include:

• Undertaking nursing tasks including distribution of medication, dressings, catheterisation, tube feeding and management of chronic medical conditions.
• Advising families of residents and GP’s of any changes in condition, which gives rise to concern and keeps them informed and involved in choices for ongoing care.
• Responsibility for the effective deployment and supervision of staff within the care team, ensuring all tasks are completed during the period of duty and residents receive required care.
• Providing high standards of care by undertaking accurate assessment and planning.

ABOUT YOU

• Hold a First Level qualification and current NMC Registration.
• Demonstrate a minimum 2 years’ experience and up to date knowledge of care, supported by relevant post-basic studies/qualification.

• Have sound knowledge of care planning and its practical application.
