Job summary

Exemplar Health Care is opening Lepton Heights in Huddersfield and seeks a Registered Nurse to lead high-quality, person-centred care in a brand-new home.

You will provide nursing care for adults with complex needs, supported by a multidisciplinary team; you will contribute to care planning, safety, and the development of the home. This role requires a current NMC PIN and strong clinical leadership.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with NMC PIN and current nursing registration.
• Experience in adult, mental health or learning disability settings preferred.
• Strong communication and leadership skills; able to act as Nurse in Charge.
• Commitment to person-centred care and safeguarding.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan and provide person-centred nursing care for the people we support.
• Safe administration of medication.
• Promote health and wellbeing of residents.
• Act as Nurse in Charge on shift for a small unit.
• Manage behaviours of concern and challenging situations.
• Promote choice, dignity, independence and respect.

Lepton Heights is part of Exemplar Health Care, one of the country’s leading nursing care providers.

Lepton Heights is due to open in February 2025, the home will support adults living with complex mental health conditions, dementia, neuro-disabilities and physical disabilities.

The home will feature 40 en-suite bedrooms and three single occupancy apartments, across four units.

Our multi-disciplinary team, including Health Care Assistants, Registered Nurses, Life Skills Facilitators, a Physiotherapist and an Occupational Therapist, will provide personalised care tailored to each individual.

About the role

This is a highly skilled nursing role where you’ll be accountable and responsible for supporting people’s holistic needs. It requires a range of clinical and nursing skills.

You’llprovide the highest standards of nursing care for adults living with complex care and health needs.Our care focuses on maximising independence and building everyday living skills.

No two days will ever be the same, but your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• assessing, planning and providing person-centred nursing care for the people we support
• the safe administration of medication
• promoting health and wellbeing
• being the Nurse in Chargeof a small unit whilst on shift
• managing situations when people display behaviours of concern
• promoting choice, dignity, independence and respect.
