Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Band 5 Registered Nurse to join our friendly, supportive, and proactive team on Midgley ward. We are an acute medical ward with a respiratory specialty.

You will be someone who is calm, able to treat your patient holistically, and willing to get to know your patients and their families to enhance their care. You should be proactive in meeting the needs of the service.

You must be committed to providing high-quality care to acutely ill patients with complex needs, possess effective communication skills, and be able to work effectively as part of a team. The post offers opportunities for personal and professional development.

If you are passionate about providing high-quality, individualized patient care, enthusiastic about supporting patients' rehabilitation, and increasing their independence and quality of life, we would like to hear from you.

Responsibilities include:
  1. Working as a registered nurse within a team responsible to the team leader/shift coordinator, caring for patients and their carers.
  2. Utilizing available learning opportunities to understand the physiological, psycho-social, spiritual, and cultural needs of patients and their carers, and developing clinical proficiency to deliver nursing care.
  3. Promoting a safe clinical environment for all patients, carers, visitors, and staff.
  4. Complying with the Trust’s values and expected behaviors.
  5. Understanding, interpreting, and nursing patients on non-invasive ventilation and high flow nasal oxygen.
