As a Registered Nurse (RN) in our 38-bed (28+10) multi-specialty Intensive Care Unit (ICU), you will play an integral role in delivering exceptional, patient-centered care. Supported by a collaborative and dedicated nursing team, you will have the opportunity to provide the highest quality care to your patients, ensuring they receive the attention and expertise they deserve.

ABOUT OUR UNIT:

Multi-Specialty ICU:

  • 28 MICU/ SICU/CCU/neuro ICU beds
  • 10 CTICU beds

Nurses are trained to take care of any medical, surgical, neurology, cardiology, and cardiothoracic patients, gaining knowledge and skills in all specialties.

CT Surgery Recognition: St. Elizabeth's Medical Center has been named the best hospital for cardiac surgery in Massachusetts in 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Deliver nursing care in the ICU unit, including assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients.
  • Communicate with various health care team members, patients, and their families.
  • Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter-professional colleagues.
  • Update and manage patient records.
  • Enter and interpret computerized data/information.
  • Follow guidelines and policies established by BMCHS/St. Elizabeth’s nursing department.
  • Assist the leadership team as needed in quality improvement projects.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Licensed to practice professional nursing as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications required. ACLS can be obtained during orientation.
  • Nursing degree: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) required.
  • Relevant clinical experience.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Physical ability to meet job responsibilities.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Fluency in another language a plus.

Weekend Requirement: every third weekend.
