Job summary

Spectrum Community Health CIC is seeking a dedicated DART nurse to join the HMP Humber team on a fixed-term basis. You will assess substance misuse needs, lead nurse-led clinics, administer treatments, and coordinate with DART, Primary Care, Mental Health and partner services to ensure safe, compassionate care.

Experienced RGN/RMN with UK registration will work within a busy, multidisciplinary prison healthcare setting, delivering high-quality services and developing professional skills through

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with valid UK registration and relevant scope of practice.
• Experience in a health and justice setting and managing deteriorating patients.
• Familiarity with multidisciplinary team working and infection control.
• Knowledge of clinical governance, risk management and quality agenda.
• Experience with health needs assessment/triage and patient directives.

Responsibilities

• The post holder will work as part of the DART clinical team, providing safe, effective and compassionate care to patients with drug and alcohol related needs.
• Undertake substance misuse assessments, support treatment pathways, administer prescribed medications and treatments.
• Monitor patients during treatment, provide health education and harm reduction advice.
• Identify and respond to changes in clinical presentation and make appropriate referrals.
• Maintain high standards of clinical documentation and contribute to multidisciplinary working.

Are you a dedicated RGN/RMN looking for a new challenge within a diverse and rewarding prison healthcare environment?

We are looking for a motivated nurse to join our DART team at HMP Humber on a fixed-term basis for approximately 10 months to provide maternity cover.

Working within secure healthcare offers a varied and interesting role, supporting patients with drug and alcohol related needs as part of a wider multidisciplinary team. You will work closely with colleagues across DART, Primary Care, Mental Health and our partner services to deliver safe, compassionate and effective care.

No two days are the same, and the role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your knowledge and experience within substance misuse and prison healthcare, with access to a wide range of training and development opportunities.

Main duties of the job

Are you a dedicated RGN/RMN with an interest in substance misuse and looking for a new challenge within a diverse prison healthcare setting?

As a DART Nurse at HMP Humber, you will undertake substance misuse assessments, deliver nurse-led clinics, administer medication and treatment, provide wound care, triage and emergency response, and make appropriate referrals to other healthcare services.

You will work closely with colleagues across DART, Primary Care, Mental Health and our wider partner services to ensure patients receive safe, effective and compassionate care.

Job responsibilities

The post holder will work as part of the DART clinical team, providing safe, effective and compassionate care to patients with drug and alcohol related needs.

Responsibilities will include undertaking substance misuse assessments, supporting patients through treatment pathways, administering prescribed medication and treatments, monitoring patients during treatment, and identifying and responding to changes in their clinical presentation.
