Job summary

The Oaks, a The Oaks care home in Rubery, Birmingham, seeks a Qualified Registered Nurse to join its heart-centred team. You will lead by example, supervise staff, and manage medication administration while liaising with families and external departments.

Applicants must hold a valid NMC pin and be able to work 8am–8pm, with up to 44 hours per week and alternate weekends. UK work rights essential. The Oaks opened in 2023 as a 71-bed facility offering person-centred care.

Qualifications

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience within a similar environment desirable
• Valid NMC Pin - no restrictions
• Proficiency in IT, including Microsoft Office and internal applications; with the ability to learn new systems quickly.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated and capable of working independently.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the management team and make sure that all relevant information is handed over at the change of shifts
• Ensure each person who lives in the home is supported, and enabled the person’s way - every day
• Represent The Oaks brand by maintaining a professional and welcoming presence for all team members, residents, and visitors.
• To liaise with people who live and work in the home along with, GPs’ and other multi-disciplinary team members to promote excellent care
• Perform any additional duties as assigned by the Home Manager to support the overall functioning of the home.
