Job Description

The registered professional nurse is responsible for utilizing job skills to effectively carry out the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, evaluation, documentation, and time management. She/he is responsible for quality communication, teamwork, and professionalism. Additionally, the nurse directs, coordinates, and implements patient teaching, quality/safety initiatives, and activities of other health team personnel while maintaining standards of professional nursing.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Nursing (BSN) required; Master's Nursing (MSN) preferred.
  • Minimum of 5616 hours of RN experience required for advancement.
  • RN License required; BLS Certification (American Heart Association) required.
  • Relevant Specialty Certification preferred.
Additional Certification/Licensure
  • Must be licensed or eligible to practice as a Registered Nurse in Virginia, either via Multi-state license under the Nurse Licensure Compact or a single-state license valid in Virginia.
  • New hires must have AHA appropriate certification before orientation completion.
