This is a great time to consider a role on our bank. Agencies are going to have to pay you less over coming months when the price cap comes into force and we think moving to our bank gives you a great alternative. We can offer the flexibility, the variety, and the training that any agency would across our main hospitals in Warwick, Leamington Spa, Ellen Badger and Stratford.

To be part of our Bank team you will need to be a registered nurse with a valid NMC number. We will want to see that you are a reliable, enthusiastic and a self-motivated individual. We will also need you to have excellent communication skills and be adaptable to changing situations.

We need bank staff who are available to work a variety of shift types, sometimes at short notice. To work across a wide variety of areas in the Acute Hospital including medicine, surgery, orthopaedics, out patients, theatres, isolation facility, or in one of our Community Hospitals.

Main duties of the job

To deliver a high standard of nursing care to patients undergoing surgical or medical treatment.

The post holders will be responsible for the assessment of patient care needs, and implementation and evaluation of the programme of the care.

The post holders are required to work as part of a team committed to delivering and improving a high standard of nursing care within South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust.

Job responsibilities

Clinical

  • Take clinical responsibility for patients within your allocated area of work.
  • Continuously assess, plan, implement and evaluate treatment, using appropriate programmes/methods of care.
  • To ensure a high delivery of quality care in accordance with Trust policies, procedures and guidelines. Participating in activities to improve the quality, productivity and effectiveness of care in response to local and national policies and initiatives.
  • To practice in accordance with the NMC Code of Professional conduct and scope of professional practice and maintain own NMC registration.
  • In the absence of a senior colleague, and following appropriate induction and guidance, will be expected to co-ordinate the shift, and take management responsibility for admissions, transfers and discharges to the ward or department.
  • Liaise with the multi-disciplinary team to ensure an effective flow and communications within the area, including being available for Board and Ward Rounds as required.
