Job summary

Avery Healthcare is looking for a warm, enthusiastic Registered Nurse - Bank at Poets Mews Care Home in Somerset. You will act as person in charge in the absence of the manager, ensuring high standards of care for residents and supervising the care team.

You will administer medications, manage dressings and chronic conditions, and keep families and GPs informed about changes in residents' conditions. NMC registration and First Level qualification are required; post-basic studies are encouraged.

Qualifications

• First Level qualification and current NMC registration.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in care with post-basic studies/qualification.
• Strong interpersonal and supervisory abilities.

Responsibilities

• Undertaking nursing tasks including medication distribution and dressings.
• Manage catheters, tube feeding, and chronic conditions with accuracy.
• Supervise care team during duty and ensure high standards of care.
• Assess and plan care, and inform families/GPs of changes.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Your focus as aRegistered Nursewill beto act as person in charge,standingin for the Manager asrequiredandobserveall instructions to act upon his/her behalfwhilst youensurehigh standardsof care toourresidents.

• Undertakingnursing tasks including distribution of medication, dressings, catheterisation, tube feeding and management of chronic medical conditions.
• Advisingfamilies of residents andGPsof any changes in condition, which gives rise to concern and keeps them informed and involved in choices for ongoing care.
• Responsibilityfor the effective deployment and supervision of staff within the care team, ensuring all tasks are completed during the period of duty and residents receive required care.
• Providing high standards of care by undertaking accurate assessment and planning.

ABOUT YOU

• Hold a First Level qualification and current NMC Registration.
• Demonstrate a minimum 2years experienceand up to date knowledge of care,supported by relevant post-basic studies/qualification.
