An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and qualified Nurse Associate to become part of the nursing team here at Morecambe North District nurses. As a Nursing Associate, you will work with the multi-professional team and Registered Nurses to assess, plan, organise and deliver clinical care in line with service and patient needs, as agreed with supervising clinicians. Work independently under the leadership of Registered Nurses and manage a delegated caseload. Act professionally at all times and use your knowledge and experience to make evidence-based decisions to solve challenges and problems. Recognise and work within the limits of your competencies and be responsible and accountable for your actions. To have some responsibility for supervising less experienced or qualified staff and students during their placements. Actively contribute to quality assurance processes and service development.
As a Nurse Associate, you are expected to:
We operate from three main hospitals - Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.
FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.
WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.
All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery.
