Job summary

Leighton Court Nursing Home in Wirral invites applications from qualified Registered Nurses (RGN or RMN) with an active NMC PIN to deliver high-quality, clinically led care across shifts. The role focuses on safe, person-centred practice and strong teamwork.

You will assess needs, develop care plans, administer medications and monitor changes in health, while leading shifts and guiding the care team to ensure consistent, compassionate care and thorough documentation.

Qualifications

• Good communication and leadership abilities.
• Care home experience is beneficial but all backgrounds considered for development.

About Leighton Court Care Home
Our 47 bedded home provides residential, nursing and nursing dementia care. Located in Wallasey, Wirral, Leighton Court is a warm and welcoming home with a supportive team and a strong community feel. With a focus on person centred care, dignity and respect, it is a place where you can build meaningful relationships with residents, work as part of a caring team and make a real difference every day.

Registered Nurse RGN or RMN Contract

• Contracted to 22, 33 or 44 hours per week
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Ongoing training, clinical updates and funded development, with clear and supported progression into Senior, Clinical Lead and Management roles, within a well led, professional environment where your skills are recognised and developed.

Role Overview
As Registered Nurse, you will play a central role in delivering high quality, clinically led care while taking responsibility for maintaining safe, effective and person centred practice across your shift. This role combines clinical expertise with leadership, ensuring standards are upheld and care is delivered consistently in line with best practice.
You will assess needs, develop and review care plans, administer medication and monitor changes in physical and mental health. Leading shifts, you will support and guide the care team, make informed clinical decisions and respond promptly to changing needs, ensuring continuity and quality of care at all times.
Working closely with residents, families and healthcare professionals, you will use your judgement and experience to maintain high standards, ensure accurate documentation and contribute to a well organised, professional environment where dignity, independence and wellbeing are always prioritised.
What We Are Looking For

• Registered Nurse RGN or RMN with an active NMC PIN
• Strong clinical judgement and decision making skills
• Confidence in leading shifts and supporting a team
• Good communication and leadership skills
• Experience in a care home setting is beneficial, however we welcome nurses from a range of backgrounds who are keen to develop within this environment
