Overview

Registered Nurse - Days

Hours: 36 hours per week - includes every other weekend; cannot offer set shifts

Shift times: 08:00 - 20:00

Salary: £22.75 per hour plus paid breaks

Our client is looking for a dedicated and experienced Staff Nurse for their nursing home, providing elderly care and dementia support to residents. This role is ideal for nurses with strong clinical expertise, a passion for person-centred care, and experience in long-term care or nursing home settings. As a Staff Nurse, you will play an important role in delivering high-quality care, ensuring residents’ safety, dignity, and well-being, while fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for both residents and the wider care team.

What We’re Looking For
  • Nursing qualification and valid UK NMC Pin
  • Experience in elderly care, long-term care, or nursing home settings highly desirable.
  • Strong clinical skills, including dementia care and chronic condition management.
  • Proficient in care planning, risk assessment, and documentation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with residents, families, and the care team.
  • Knowledge of regulatory frameworks, CQC standards, and infection control protocols.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver exceptional, person-centred nursing care tailored to elderly residents, including those with dementia and complex health needs.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments, create individualized care plans, and regularly evaluate outcomes.
  • Administer medications and treatments safely in line with regulatory guidelines.
  • Monitor residents’ health, identify changes, and escalate concerns promptly.
  • Provide palliative, rehabilitative, and end-of-life care aligned with residents’ preferences.
  • Maintain compliance with infection prevention protocols and promote a safe, clean environment.
  • Collaborate with families and multidisciplinary teams (GPs, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, social workers).
  • Mentor and support care assistants, fostering a culture of learning and compassion.
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and participate in audits and reflective practices.
  • Promote inclusivity, respect, and teamwork across the service.
