Job summary

Thames Hospice in Maidenhead is seeking an experienced registered nurse to join our Inpatient Unit, delivering high-quality palliative and end-of-life care to our patients and families within a supportive multidisciplinary team. The role involves shift work, long days and night shifts, plus weekend work.

You should have excellent communication skills, strong care values and a true team spirit; prior hospice experience is welcome but not essential.

Qualifications

• Experienced registered nurse (RN).

• Strong sense of teamwork and collaboration with MDT.

Job description

Salary: £40,290 per year (pro rata for part time)

Thames Hospice is an independent adult hospice with a beautiful 20 bed hospice at Bray Lake in Maidenhead with views of the lake and state of the art facilities.

You will need to be an experienced registered nurse – not necessarily in a hospice or palliative care setting – with the desire to care for this group of patients. You should possess good communication skills, excellent care values and a strong sense of team spirit.

As part of our multi‑disciplinary team, you’ll provide high‑quality palliative and end‑of‑life care within our Inpatient Unit. You’ll bring enthusiasm, flexibility, and excellent communication skills, working collaboratively to maintain the highest standards.

This role includes shift work, long days and night shifts (07:00–19:30 / 19:00–07:30) as well as weekend working.
