Job description

An experienced Registered Nurse is needed to join the team at The Dean in Gloucester, delivering specialist 24-hour nursing and therapy services for people with complex long-term neurological conditions. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team that works together to change lives for the better, as you develop specialist skills and make a real difference for some of the most vulnerable people in society.

Main duties of the job

As a qualified Registered Nurse, you will ensure people with Neurological conditions receive high-quality care, while also supporting your colleagues and promoting good teamwork. Your day-to-day will include providing high-quality, effective and compassionate nursing care to service users, being responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care, providing mentorship and support to team members, and observing, recording and reporting all service user changes, and maintaining accurate records of care provided.

What you will be doing

As a qualified Registered Nurse,you will ensure people with Neurological conditions receive high-quality care, while also supporting your colleagues and promote good teamwork.

The wards are busy, with plenty to keep you engaged and motivated, and a good amount of routine and variety. Your day-to-day will include:

  • Providing high-quality, effective and compassionate nursing care to service users
  • Being responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care
  • Providing mentorship and support to team members
  • Observing, recording and reporting all service user changes, and maintaining accurate records of care provided

Where you will be working

Location:The Dean Neurological Centre, Tewkesbury Road, Longford, Gloucester, Gloucestershire,GL2 9EE

The Dean Neurological Centre has 60 beds in Gloucester (GL2 9EE), which is on the outskirts of the town within easy commute from Gloucester, Cheltenham with good transport links.

The Centre delivers specialist 24-hour nursing and therapy services for people with complex long-term neurological conditions who require ongoing support and assistance to maximise functional ability.

It specialises in slow stream rehabilitation where the emphasis is placed on maximising each individual's abilities, comfort and quality of life.

Bedrooms are fitted with high dependency equipment, including ceiling track hoists, wall mounted suction and oxygen equipment., with all rooms adapted to individual requirements. There are also well-equipped therapy facilities and other facilities such as gardens, gym and minibus.
