Overview

This role is for a Registered Nurse with Leonard Cheshire, responsible for providing the highest standards of nursing, clinical and personal support to our customers as outlined in Person Centred Plans. You will lead a team of support staff, effectively managing shifts, prioritising and planning, and ensuring the needs of our customers are met within a safe and caring environment. You will support ongoing assessments and observe changes in health and well‑being, and maintain records in a timely way while assisting with physical care, personal hygiene and daily tasks. This is a challenging and exciting opportunity to grow and develop as a member of the Leonard Cheshire team, making a difference to many lives and supporting independence and fulfilment.

Responsibilities
  • Provide the highest standards of nursing, clinical and personal support to customers as outlined in Person Centred Plans.
  • Order and administer medication, ensure safe storage and record all information in accordance with internal procedures and NMC guidelines.
  • Lead a team of support staff, ensuring smooth and efficient management of shifts, prioritising and delegating activities to meet customer needs in a safe, caring environment.
  • Support ongoing assessments and observe changes in health and well‑being.
  • Maintain timely records and assist customers with physical care, personal hygiene and daily tasks.
Qualifications
  • Current NMC registration as a Registered Nurse.
  • A thorough and up‑to‑date knowledge of nursing theory and best practice at the level of a qualified nurse (level 5).
  • An understanding of the NMC code of conduct and relevant practice standards and guidance.
  • Effective nursing practice in all basic registered nurse procedures.
  • Flexibility to work rostered hours and on‑call rota as required.
