Qualifications

Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) - Tier 4 Personality Disorder Service

We are looking for Registered Mental Health Nurses (RMN) to join our dynamic and forward-thinking team on our Tier 4 personality disorder service, New Dawn Ward. You will be expected to work 38.5 hours a week, including days and night shifts.

The post offers a unique opportunity to develop skills across specialties, such as DBT, and gain knowledge from other specialist pathways, all under one roof.

About New Dawn Ward

Located at Cygnet Hospital Beckton, New Dawn Ward is an 18-bed specialist Tier 4 Personality Disorder service. Women can be admitted if they have a diagnosis of personality disorder, exhibit self-harming behavior, and are able to accept help. Service users may be informal or detained under the Mental Health Act.

We provide comprehensive care across four specialist wards: Acute, PICU, Tier 4 Personality Disorder, and Complex Personality Disorder for women with complex mental health needs. Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Candidate Requirements

Essential:

• Current Pin Number as an RMN
• Ability to maintain documentation, undertake audits, and demonstrate integrity
• Knowledge of the Mental Health Act 1983 and current nursing practices
• Commitment to patient recovery, risk management
• Compassion, resilience, and support for service user independence
• Ability to complete mandatory training, including restraint training

Desirable:

• Ability to deputise in a clinical lead role
• Interest in leadership, research, and assessment
• Interest in psychological interventions such as DBT
• Experience with Personality Disorder wards
