We are currently looking to recruit Band 3 Nursing Assistants to work within the Older Adult inpatient wards, caring for Older Adults from Derby and Derbyshire, diagnosed with Organic and Functional mental illness. There are 3 wards on site: Cubley Court Male, Female and Tissington House.

Please be mindful that the wards provide a 24-hour, year-round inpatient service.

Main duties of the job

As a valued member of the team, you will deliver high standards of person-centred care showing empathy, patience and understanding at all times.

We work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, and you will work within the Trust Core Care Standards and always promote independence, recovery, and service user dignity. You would be an active and supportive member of the team.

As a Nursing Assistant, you will be actively involved in delivering direct patient care under the supervision of qualified nurses and be accountable for reporting the care you give to qualified nursing staff.

We offer ongoing training and development, clinical supervision & managerial supervision, and an annual PADR.

  • Are you looking for a new exciting opportunity to work in a team where you can continually develop your skills and knowledge base?
  • As a Nursing Assistant, you will be completing daily duties including:
  • Providing care and support for patients who are acutely mentally unwell
  • Spending 1:1 time with patients
  • Escorting patients off the ward
  • Completing levels of observations with patients
  • Engaging patients in therapeutic activities
  • Completing physical observations and general physical checks
  • Working alongside a multi-disciplinary team to make changes in patients' care
