We are looking to recruit Registered Mental Health Nurses to work on a flexible basis within our mental health services at Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust.

Availability of Bank work may fluctuate and there is no commitment to specific hours of work however applications are sought from individuals who can offer regular and consistent support.

We are looking for enthusiastic applicants with current nursing experience who have a caring and compassionate disposition, who share a vision of patient centred care.

Suitable applicants will have a sound clinical knowledge with drive to champion the 6 C s in nursing. You should be able to demonstrate excellent nursing, communication and organizational skills.

All candidates will require an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check and that the disclosure will, where appropriate to the role, include information against the Independent Safeguarding Authority barred lists for working with children or working with adults or both.

Main duties of the job
  • Promote and deliver patient centred care aligned with the Trust vision and Nursing and Midwifery strategy.
  • Take a lead role in the absence of the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse/Deputy Sister.
  • Deliver all aspects of care and may be required to demonstrate procedures and supervise qualified and/or unqualified staff.
  • Responsible for the patient's clinical journey along agreed patient care pathways, supported by evidence based practice.
  • Provide the highest standard of safe, effective and compassionate care through the effective use of evidence based practice in line with agreed local and national standards and the NMC Code.
  • Support a continuously improving service, in line with the clinical governance framework, Trust objectives, and the NHS performance framework.
  • Provide clinical advice and support to the nursing and multi -professional team to facilitate the effective delivery of care to patients at all times.
  • Continually develop professionally to ensure the post holder has the appropriate level of skill, knowledge and competence to meet service/specialty requirements.
  • Participate in Preceptorship/ mentorship and development programmes.
