The Skylark ward, Avondale Unit, Royal Preston Hospital
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Part time Band 5 staff nurse working 22.5 hours per week. Skylark ward is a specialist 11 bedded unit providing inpatient service for older adults.
The Unit provides assessment and interventions for clients, operates seven days a week and is accessible 24hrs per day.
We are inviting applications from RMN’s with Band 5 experience to join a dynamic forward thinking nursing team.
We are looking for highly motivated staff nurses who can demonstrate excellent clinical, leadership and interpersonal qualities. The successful candidate must be willing to work in fast paced environment, have a positive outlook and ensure that delivering a quality service, which genuinely engages with service users, carers and other stakeholders, is a key priority.
The successful post holders will be expected to work shifts covering 24 hours, seven days a week.
You will be a Nurse working within a multi-disciplinary team and carry out a diverse range of duties. As a Band 5 Nurse within the team you will be regularly supported and supervised by a nominated Band 6 Nurse Specialist and you will be encouraged to take personal responsibility for clinical supervision and your continued professional development plan.
You will actively promote teamwork, respect, integrity, accountability, excellence and compassion within the clinical team in accordance with the Trust values and Code of Conduct. You are required to maintain links with your professional body and provide evidence for the revalidation process.
You will provide nurse leadership within the multi-disciplinary team and ensure the effective assessment, formulation, planning and monitoring of care given to service users.
You will exercise professional accountability and responsibility using skills, knowledge and expertise in changing environments, across clinical boundaries and in unfamiliar situations as outlined within the NMC Code of Professional Conduct.
You will be required to offer clinical and managerial leadership to junior Health Care Staff and Student Nurses as part of your role within the team. You may be required to take on tasks that require you to operate electronic staffing record systems, authorising periods of leave, sickness and absence for junior nursing staff.
You will maintain a positive and open attitude towards organisational change and service development.
