Job Title: Registered Manager Dual Registration (Childrens Residential Care)

Location: Aigburth Road, Liverpool

Salary: £45,000 £55,000 per annum (plus further uplift upon dual registration)

About The Role

We are seeking a driven and experienced Registered Manager to lead and support the running of a specialist childrens residential service in Aigburth Road, Liverpool. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is ready to step into a dual-registration role or has ambitions to manage two homes long-term.

As the Registered Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring high standards of care, compliance with all regulatory frameworks, and for creating a therapeutic, supportive environment for the young people in your care.

Key Requirement Dual Registration

This role requires someone who can Dual Register or has the experience and leadership capacity to manage two homes effectively. This is a key priority for the client and will form part of the long-term progression and salary structure.

Salary Breakdown

  • £45,000 offered to candidates with a minimum of 2 years' Registered Manager experience in a children's home.
  • £55,000 for candidates with more than 2 years' experience and/or first-home registration or dual registration experience.
  • Further salary increase available upon successful dual registration.

Key Responsibilities:Leadership & Management

  • Lead the daily operations of the home(s) in line with Ofsted regulations and the Childrens Homes (England) Regulations 2015.
  • Provide dynamic, values-led leadership and build a strong, supportive team culture.
  • Oversee recruitment, training, supervisions, and appraisals to ensure staff development and retention.

Safeguarding & Child Welfare

  • Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL).
  • Ensure care is child-centred, trauma-informed, and promotes the emotional and psychological wellbeing of young people.
  • Implement and regularly review individual risk assessments and care plans.

Compliance & Regulation

  • Prepare for and lead Ofsted inspections with the goal of achieving Good or Outstanding ratings.
  • Maintain accurate records, documentation, and policy compliance at all times.

Financial & Operational Oversight

  • Manage home budgets and resources efficiently.
  • Ensure the home environment is well-maintained, safe, and welcoming.

Multi-Agency Working

  • Build positive relationships with local authorities, social workers, healthcare professionals, and education providers.
  • Attend and contribute to all relevant meetings, reviews, and strategy discussions.

Essential Criteria:

  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
  • Minimum 2 years of Registered Manager experience in a childrens residential home.
  • Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations, Quality Standards, and safeguarding protocols.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team and deliver high standards of care and compliance.
  • Full UK driving licence and Enhanced DBS (or willingness to undertake one).

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience of managing multiple homes or working in a dual registration capacity.
  • Experience setting up a new childrens home or achieving registration.
  • Background in therapeutic care models and trauma-informed approaches.
  • A track record of securing Good or Outstanding Ofsted outcomes.
