Job summary

A leading company in children's residential care is seeking a Registered Manager in Coventry. You will provide high-quality, therapeutic care for children aged 7-18 with Emotional and Behavioral Difficulties (EBD). Responsibilities include leadership, compliance with regulations, staff management, and ensuring a safe, supportive environment. This is a full-time role with a salary of £65,000 to £70,000 per annum, plus bonus incentives based on performance and quality outcomes.

Qualifications

Registered Manager - Children's Residential Home (EBD)

Location: Coventry, West Midlands, UK

Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week (including on-call duties)

Salary: 65,000 - 70,000 per annum plus annual bonus of up to 8,000 based on Ofsted results, staff retention and occupancy of the home

Lead and manage a children's residential home (ages 7-18 with EBD), ensuring high-quality, therapeutic, trauma-informed care and regulatory compliance

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Operations: Provide strong leadership, ensure regulatory compliance (Children's Homes Regulations 2015, Quality Standards), develop and maintain policies and procedures, create a positive work environment, and manage health and safety.
  • EBD Support: Oversee admissions, care planning, risk assessments, and behaviour management for children with EBD.
  • Safeguarding & Compliance: Act as DSL, maintain Ofsted compliance, monitor quality assurance, and ensure a strong safeguarding culture.
  • Staff Management: Recruit, train, supervise, and support staff; conduct regular supervisions and appraisals; and implement a continuous improvement plan.
  • Multi-Agency Working: Liaise effectively with external stakeholders, advocating for children's needs.
  • Financial & Administration: Manage budget, resources, and staffing; ensure accurate record-keeping and data protection compliance; and report on performance.

Essential Requirements:

  • NVQ Level 5 Leadership & Management (Residential Childcare) or equivalent.
  • 2+ years' experience as a Registered Manager or Deputy in children's residential care.
  • Proven experience with children/young people with EBD, trauma, and complex behaviors.
  • In-depth knowledge of Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Ofsted framework.
  • Enhanced DBS check and full UK driving license.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility to participate in on-call rota.
