Job summary

Care First UK is seeking an experienced Registered Manager for a residential children’s home in West Sussex. The role may suit an accomplished Registered Manager or a Deputy Manager ready for progression, leading a dedicated care team to deliver outstanding support tailored to each child.

You will oversee day-to-day operations, safeguarding, compliance, and service quality, while managing budgets and building multi-agency partnerships to achieve positive outcomes for young people.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Children’s Residential Home.
• Registered Manager or aspiring Deputy Manager seeking progression.
• Strong knowledge of Children's Homes Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards.
• Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
• Experience supporting children with complex emotional, behavioural, and mental health needs.
• Ability to collaborate with Local Authorities, Social Workers, and external agencies.

Care First UK is proud to be partnering with an established children's care provider to recruit an experienced and passionate Registered Manager for a residential children's home in West Sussex.

This is an exciting opportunity for an accomplished Registered Manager, or an experienced Deputy Manager ready for progression, to lead a dedicated team and make a meaningful difference to the lives of children and young people.

The Opportunity

As Registered Manager, you will be responsible for the overall management and performance of the home, ensuring the highest standards of care, safeguarding, and compliance are consistently achieved.

Working closely with senior leadership, you will lead and inspire a committed care team, promote a positive and nurturing environment, and ensure children and young people receive outstanding support tailored to their individual needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day operation of the Children's Residential Home.
• Ensure compliance with Children's Homes Regulations 2015, Quality Standards, and Ofsted requirements.
• Recruit, supervise, develop, and support residential care staff.
• Drive service quality, continuous improvement, and best practice.
• Champion safeguarding and promote positive outcomes for young people.
• Manage budgets and resources effectively.
• Oversee care planning, risk management, and quality assurance processes.
• Build strong relationships with Local Authorities, Social Workers, families, and external agencies.
• Prepare for and support Ofsted inspections.
• Ensure all policies, procedures, and records are maintained to the highest standard.

Essential Experience

• Previous experience within a Children's Residential Home.
• Experience as a Registered Manager or an experienced Deputy Manager seeking progression.
• Strong understanding of Children's Homes Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards.

• Experience supporting children and young people with complex emotional, behavioural, and mental health needs.
• Proven ability to work effectively with multi-agency professionals and stakeholders.
