Job summary

Portman Recruitment is seeking a Registered Manager for an eight-bed children’s home. The role offers a total package up to £79,185, with base salary £54,997 - £68,441 and a long-term incentive plan of 30% of salary accrued annually.

The successful candidate will manage day-to-day operations, ensure Ofsted compliance and drive positive outcomes for young people, with opportunities for career progression and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

  • Experience managing an Ofsted-rated Good or Outstanding children’s home.
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (England).
  • Full UK driving licence held for at least 12 months.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day operations of the home and ensure Ofsted compliance.
  • Lead a high-quality children’s home to secure care and support for young people.
  • Assess new referrals and help shape pathways toward positive outcomes.
  • Support and develop the team to create a nurturing environment for residents.

Total package: Up to £79,185 (8-bed children's home)
PLUS a long-term incentive bonus of 30% of salary accrued each year.

Our client's homes support young people with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, with the aim of achieving the very best outcomes. Their holistic approach ensures every aspect of a young person's development is supported, with multidisciplinary teams including Psychologists, Occupational Therapists and other clinical professionals working together to deliver positive outcomes.

By managing the day-to-day operations of the home and maintaining compliance with Ofsted standards, you'll help young people regain their childhood and create pathways towards becoming well-rounded adults.

You'll play an active role in assessing new referrals and will have the opportunity to lead a high-quality children's home, ensuring young people receive the care, stability and support they deserve.
