Job summary

Exemplar Health Care, at The Lodge in Swallownest, is seeking a Registered Learning Disability Nurse for night shifts. You will provide high standard nursing care in a small group home, focusing on independence and everyday living skills within a supportive team.

You must hold NMC registration with a valid PIN and be committed to enhancing skills through our training pathways. This role requires flexibility for night shifts and a compassionate, patient-centred approach.

Qualifications

• Must hold a first-level nursing registration with a valid NMC PIN.
• Experience in learning disability settings is beneficial.
• Willingness to work nights and flexible shifts.
• Strong communication and advocacy for patients and families.

Position: Registered Learning Disability Nurse - NIGHTS

Care home: The Lodge

Location: Swallownest, S26 4WB

Contract type: 18 hours per week on nights (one shift week 1, two shifts week 2)

About the role

This is a highly skilled nursing role where you'll be accountable and responsible for supporting people's holistic needs. It requires a range of clinical and nursing skills.

You’ll provide the highest standards of nursing care for adults living with complex care and health needs. Our care focuses on maximising independence and building everyday living skills.

No two days will ever be the same, but your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• assessing, planning and providing person-centred nursing care for the people we support
• the safe administration of medication
• promoting health and wellbeing
• being the Nurse in Charge of the home
• ensuring care plans reflect the needs of the people we support
• managing situations when people display behaviours which challenge
• promoting choice, dignity, independence and respect.
