Priory Hospital Hazelwood House in Heath, Derbyshire, is a low secure unit for 12 males with mental health needs and learning disabilities. We have an opportunity for a Registered Learning Disabilities Nurse to join our team on a full-time basis.

You will assess, plan, deliver and review personalised nursing care, work with a multidisciplinary team, ensure safeguarding and medicines management, and maintain accurate clinical records.

Qualificações

• Qualified RNLD with active NMC registration.
• Minimum 6 months post-registration experience in mental health or learning disabilities.
• Completed preceptorship programme.
• Good knowledge of NMC guidelines and safeguarding requirements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for person-centred care.

Responsabilidades

• Assess, plan, deliver and review personalised nursing care, respecting patients' needs and wishes.
• Monitor patients' wellbeing and respond to changes in their condition.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team and families to support care outcomes.
• Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment following safeguarding procedures and medicines policies.
• Coordinate nursing duties and maintain accurate care records in line with Priory policies.

Priory Hospital Hazelwood House has an opportunity for a Registered Learning Disabilities Nurse to join our team.

Priory Hospital Hazelwood House, in Heath, Derbyshire, is a low secure unit for 12 males with mental health needs. We also support those who have a learning disability, complex care needs and/or are on the autism spectrum. This hospital provides WAIS and ADOS assessments for patients who may be waiting for an NHS diagnosis.

You will be part of a compassionate team that is committed to supporting people's wellbeing. We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future.

• Assess, plan, deliver and review personalised nursing care, ensuring patients' individual needs, choices and wishes are respected
• Monitor patients' wellbeing, recognise changes in their condition and respond appropriately to changing clinical needs.
• Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team, patients and their families or carers to support effective care and positive outcomes.
• Maintain a safe, therapeutic care environment, following safeguarding procedures, medicines management policies and relevant legislation.
• Coordinate nursing duties when required, support colleagues and newly qualified nurses, and maintain accurate care records in line with Priory policies and the NMC Code.

What you'll bring to the role

Essential for the role

• Qualified Registered Learning Disabilities Nurse (RNLD) with active NMC registration
• Minimum of 6 months' post-registration experience in a mental health or learning disabilities care environment.
• Completed preceptorship programme.
• Good knowledge of NMC guidelines, professional nursing standards and relevant safeguarding requirements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a commitment to high-quality, person-centred care.

The following experience would be beneficial

• Experience assessing, planning and reviewing individualised nursing care plans.
• Experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities and responding to changing care needs.
• Experience working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team and involving families and carers in care planning.
• Experience with medicines management, safeguarding procedures and relevant legislation, including the Mental Capacity Act.
• Evidence of ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
