Bupa Dermatology is recruiting a Registered General Nurse to join our clinic team at Crossrail. This permanent, full-time post involves 40 hours weekly, Monday to Saturday, with a focus on comprehensive dermatology patient care.

You will assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care, supporting dermatology pathways and working alongside specialists in a fast-paced clinic environment. Experience with dermoscopy and minor procedures is valued.

Qualifications

• Nursing degree with registered status (NMC)
• Significant post-registration nursing experience
• Knowledge of patient database systems

Responsibilities

• Support patient pathways in Dermatology and participate in treatment and monitoring
• Supervise and demonstrate procedures for junior staff
• Assist Dermatologists and Surgeons with dermatology procedures
• Plan and organise workload to meet clinic needs
• Ensure compliance with clinic policies and procedures
• Assist in outpatient clinics and triage referrals
• Perform skin assessments and dermoscopy when needed
• Provide nursing care including dressing and sutures removal
• Assist with sample collection and labelling
• Support audits and triage results

Location: Cross Rail

Contract Type: Permanent, Full Time

Hours: 40 hours Monday - Saturday

Salary: £41,600

As a Staff Nurse, you will work within a dermatology team to deliver care to patients within a Clinic environment. You will participate in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care to provide support to patients with Dermatological conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support patient pathways in Dermatology and participate fully in the treatment and monitoring of patients
• Supervise and demonstrate procedures for junior staff qualified and unqualified
• Assisting Dermatologists and Surgeons with a range of specialised procedures such as general dermatology and skin care surgery
• Plan and organise own workload in order to meet Clinic and patient needs
• Ensure compliance with Clinic Policies and Procedures
• Assisting in outpatient clinics
• Check referral letter, results and x-rays are available for clinical sessions
• Support the community dermatology clinic, providing education and resources to patients, their families and staff
• Perform a full skin assessment on each patient including dermoscopy where necessary
• Perform all aspects of relevant nursing care for patients including specialist dressing/bandaging techniques and the removal of sutures/clips
• Assist and chaperone patients whilst clinical examinations/procedures are being undertaken
• Assist medical staff with fine needle aspirations, core biopsies and take responsibility for the collection/labelling of specimens
• Provide high standards of care in various Nurse-led follow-up clinics including phototherapy, cryotherapy, acne clinics, PRP and related clinics, patch testing and assisting in minor surgery
• Support where and when necessary with audits, triage of results and triage of referrals

Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role:

• Nursing Degree Registered NMC Significant post-registration Nursing experience
• Knowledge of patient database systems
• Phlebotomy – administration of drugs as prescribed by medical staff
• Understanding of clinical and pricing documentation
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Passion for patient care and delivering an effective service
• Demonstrates a professional, confident and calm approach
• Self-motivated and able to motivate others
• Works to well established routines/procedures
• Able to develop and maintain positive and professional working relationships with all staff and patients
