Job description

Job summary

Working for LCH in a secure environment is a unique and rewarding role. We operate as a community within a community, providing services such as nursing, GP, pharmacy, dentist, optician, health promotion, and collaborating with CAMHS, substance misuse, and physiotherapy. As a Registered Clinician at Wetherby YOI, Adel Beck, and Aldine House, you'll work with vulnerable young people across all sites. Your role will be varied, challenging, and fulfilling.

Your responsibilities include:
  • Conducting initial assessments in custody, including clinical and risk assessments, and managing various health needs
  • Facilitating nursing clinics
  • Administering medication, immunisations, and vaccinations
  • Triage and treating minor illnesses and injuries, and responding to emergencies
  • Delivering age-appropriate health promotion sessions to this complex yet rewarding client group

You will work closely with prison departments, education, safer custody, and probation to ensure holistic care.

At Adel Beck & Aldine House, services support children aged 10-17 in secure settings due to welfare or justice needs.

This is a cross-site role between WYOI & Adel Beck, with possible healthcare provision at Aldine House SCH as needed.
