Base pay range

Job Role: REGISTERED HOMES MANAGER FOR OUR NEW BOURNEMOUTH HOME OPENING IN THE FIRST QUARTER OF 2025
Salary: £44,720.00 - £53,040.00 - OTE £62,920 - £71,240
Homes Manager Incentive Bonus - £3000 if you apply from 16th April 2025 - 16th May 2025*
£1500 after a successful 6 months probation period and the following £1500 after a 12 month successful annual appraisal

It is vital that you understand your role as a Homes Manager within the company, dedicating time to learn and understand your responsibilities. Long-term positive change for young people relies on continuity, rigorous care planning, therapeutic interventions, and a consistent team approach.

Scope of the Post

The Manager must provide effective clinical leadership, governance, and management, ensuring the home's reputation and daily operations are maintained. Responsibilities include delivering high-quality holistic care and fostering a caring environment tailored to individual needs within the legislative framework of quality assurance.

The role involves adopting a 'needs-led' approach, promoting self-awareness, reflection, personal growth, and empowering young people to participate in decision-making and lifestyle choices.

Leadership & Management
  • Provide leadership and management to staff, ensuring the highest quality of care in a safe environment.
  • Be an approachable, consistent, and positive role model.
  • Set and uphold standards of care aligned with compliance expectations.
  • Lead and develop a team, promoting tolerance and acceptance.
  • Understand shift patterns and on-call responsibilities, being available as needed.
  • Report misconduct through appropriate channels.
  • Work collaboratively with your team, putting aside personal values to ensure consistent care.
  • Develop a culture of continuous quality improvement.
  • Maintain a comprehensive induction process for new staff.
  • Ensure all staff adhere to professional conduct and organizational policies.
  • Conduct regular staff reviews, appraisals, and manage performance issues.
  • Address complaints and suggestions appropriately.
  • Identify service needs and monitor staff performance, training, and development.
  • Facilitate regular consultations with staff, young people, and stakeholders.
Main Duties - In the Home
  • Implement quality assurance initiatives.
  • Coordinate with regulators and local authorities.
  • Lead the home in collaboration with company departments, accountable to senior management.
  • Ensure access to therapeutic interventions and support for young people.
  • Manage resources, maintain occupancy, and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Implement policies and procedures to uphold high standards of care.
  • Engage with wellbeing services to support young people's needs.
  • Maintain a safe, homely environment with high standards of decor.
Main Duties - Care Planning
  • Ensure up-to-date, participatory care plans for all young people.
  • Identify and address risks related to care activities.
  • Monitor and evaluate the delivery of care to meet holistic needs.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and legislative frameworks, empowering young people where possible.
  • Organize activities aligned with young people's interests.
  • Manage nutrition, medication, finances, and safety protocols.
  • Maintain staffing schedules, manage leave, and monitor sickness and absence.
  • Fulfill responsibilities as 'Responsible Individual,' ensuring statutory obligations are met.
  • Participate in recruitment, liaise with external agencies, and attend meetings.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with families, authorities, and community partners.
  • Report serious incidents promptly and follow safeguarding procedures.
Main Duties - Policies
  • Understand and ensure compliance with Ofsted requirements and other legislation.
  • Apply and promote company policies and ethos consistently.
Personal Specification
  • Resilient, caring, professional, and understanding, especially in challenging situations.
  • Utilize wellbeing resources to support personal and team challenges.
Training & Experience
  • Registered with Ofsted.
  • Hold or be working towards Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management.
  • Experience in leading and managing teams (minimum 2 years).
  • Experience as a Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL).
  • Complete mandatory training and participate in ongoing CPD.
