This position is Managing a Solo Residential home Rotherham/South Yorkshire

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Manager to lead our solo residential provision for a young person with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD). This is an opportunity to shape a high quality, therapeutic environment where one child’s safety, stability, and progress are your focus every single day.

The home is centred on child first values, and we are looking for someone who will lead by example, championing the voice of the child, promoting recovery from trauma, and supporting emotional growth through consistent, nurturing care.

Key Duties

• Lead and manage the day-to-day running of the solo children’s home in line with the children’s home regulations and quality standards
• Deliver and monitor child-centred, trauma-informed care, ensuring the young person’s emotional, social, and behavioural needs are supported
• Build and maintain a therapeutic, structured environment that encourages stability, trust, and positive relationships
• Recruit, supervise and develop a small, committed staff team aligned with the values of the home
• Work collaboratively with external professionals including social workers, therapists, and education providers
• Oversee safeguarding, risk management, care planning, and reporting responsibilities
• Champion progress and outcomes, keeping the young person’s wellbeing at the centre of all decisions

Required Experience & Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a children’s residential setting (preferably with EBD/complex needs)
• Worked for at least 1 year in a role requiring the supervision and management of staff working in a care role
• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or working towards this)
• Strong understanding of safeguarding legislation, quality standards, and child development
• Proven ability to lead and inspire a team within a trauma-informed care framework
• A track record of promoting positive change and progress in young people’s lives
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to write detailed, accurate, and professionally literate records
• Ability to maintain robust record-keeping and regulatory compliance
