Job description

Registered Children's Home Manager/RI

Location: Derby

Salary: Negotiable

Position Type: Permanent

Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Children's Home Manager to lead our new Derby-based children's home. This role involves registering, staffing, and filling the home, with the objective of developing a Deputy Manager to take over the Registered Manager position within 12 months. Following this, the role will transition into a Responsible Individual (RI) position to oversee the expansion of services closer to Birmingham.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage the day-to-day operations of the children's home, ensuring compliance with Ofsted standards and regulations.
  2. Oversee the registration process of the new home.
  3. Recruit, train, and manage staff to ensure a high standard of care for the children.
  4. Develop and implement care plans tailored to the needs of each child.
  5. Foster a safe, nurturing, and positive environment for children and staff.
  6. Work closely with external agencies and stakeholders to ensure the best outcomes for the children.
  7. Develop the Deputy Manager to take over the Registered Manager role within 12 months.
  8. Plan and execute the expansion of additional services closer to Birmingham.
  9. Transition into the Responsible Individual role, overseeing multiple services.

Qualifications and Experience:
  1. Relevant qualifications in Health and Social Care (Level 5 or equivalent).
  2. Proven experience in managing a children's residential home.
  3. Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations and standards.
  4. Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  5. Ability to manage and develop a team effectively.
