Are you passionate about ensuring the safety, sustainability, and innovation of the built environment? Join our forward-thinking Building Control team at 3C Shared Services Building Control, where we lead the way in delivering high-quality, customer-focused building control services to one of the UK’s most vibrant cities and surrounding areas.

In this role, you will:

  1. Manage a diverse portfolio of construction projects, from heritage sites to modern developments.
  2. Ensure compliance with building regulations and statutory requirements, working with homeowners, developers, architects, and contractors.
  3. Conduct inspections and assessments at various construction stages, focusing on safety, energy efficiency, and sustainability.
  4. Build strong relationships with stakeholders, becoming a trusted partner in achieving project goals while safeguarding public interests.
  5. Mentor junior staff and contribute to team improvements and innovation.

3C Shared Services Building Control is a partnership between Huntingdonshire District Council, South Cambridgeshire District Council, and Cambridge City Council, delivering resilient, high-quality building control services across a diverse region, from historic landmarks to innovative developments.

About You

We seek an experienced professional with:

  • Registration with the Building Safety Regulator as a Building Inspector Class 2.
  • Strong knowledge of building regulations, including fire safety, accessibility, and energy performance.
  • Proficiency in examining plans, conducting site inspections, and maintaining detailed records.
  • Project management skills and excellent customer service abilities.
  • Independent working skills, excellent communication, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
  • A full UK driving license and access to a vehicle.

This is a full-time, permanent role, 37 hours per week, with flexible working options across multiple locations or from home. Salary ranges from £40,476 to £45,718 per annum (City Pay Band 6), pro-rata for part-time. The role is open to discussions on working patterns.
