Through our exclusive partnership with SWECO Building Control, we are pleased to showcase an opportunity to join their experienced London team. This role involves working on some of the most prestigious commercial projects within the UK within a team containing a wealth of BC knowledge. They are open to surveyors at various levels, with a minimum requirement of class 2D, but also including senior/principal surveyors at class 2F or class 3.

Key Responsibilities:

For a Building Control Surveyor, responsibilities include:

  • Achieving specific objectives defined by others.
  • Working with the wider team to develop objectives using experience and collaboration to resolve issues.
  • Completing responsibilities in bids submitted.
  • Understanding the risk profile within a contract and generating new business opportunities accordingly.
  • Playing a supportive role in the overall game plan.
  • Developing technical skills.
  • Conducting thorough inspections of commercial buildings to ensure compliance with regulations and standards.
  • Assessing plans, specifications, and designs for legal compliance.
  • Managing large-scale technical projects with complex components.
  • Taking responsibility for contractual liabilities in bids.
  • Engaging with contacts to generate sales and relationships.
  • Developing technical team members and sharing expertise.
  • Ensuring all proposals and tenders comply with Sweco processes.
Job Requirements:
  • Significant experience in Building Control, especially with commercial schemes.
  • 2D upwards registration as a Building Inspector.
  • Understanding of building regulations and construction standards.
  • Analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams.
  • Relevant qualifications in building control, construction, or related fields.
  • Salary up to £80,000 (DOE).
  • Car allowance or salary sacrifice for a vehicle.
  • Above statutory pension scheme.
