Through our exclusive partnership with SWECO Building Control, we are pleased to showcase an opportunity to join their experienced Leeds team - an opportunity to work on some of the most prestigious commercial projects within the UK, alongside a team with extensive BC knowledge. For their Leeds team, they are open to surveyors at various levels, with the minimum requirement being class 2D, but also senior/principal surveyors at class 2F or class 3.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Achieving specific objectives defined by others.
  2. Working with the wider team to develop objectives using their own experience and interacting with others to resolve issues.
  3. Completing certain aspects in their arena of responsibility in the bids that are submitted.
  4. Understanding the risk profile within a contract and generating new business opportunities from that understanding as required.
  5. Knowing their role in the overall game plan, generally in a supportive capacity.
  6. Helping develop themselves to great technical skill.
  7. Conducting thorough inspections of commercial buildings to ensure compliance with building regulations and standards.
  8. Assessing plans, specifications, and designs to confirm they meet legal requirements.
Responsibilities for Senior / Principal Building Control Surveyors:
  1. Managing large-scale technical projects with complex strands and being knowledgeable about all aspects of the project.
  2. Taking responsibility for contractual liability in the bids submitted within their remit.
  3. Understanding the risk profile within a contract and generating new business opportunities from that understanding.
  4. Approaching known contacts in the game plan to generate sales and build relationships, understanding their role in the overall strategy.
  5. Helping develop technical team members by sharing experiences and ensuring all surveyors are developing their expertise.
  6. Ensuring all prospects, proposals, and tenders are submitted according to the SWECO process.
Job Requirements:
  • Significant experience in Building Control, especially with commercial schemes.
  • Registration as a Building Inspector at 2D level or higher.
  • Comprehensive understanding of building regulations and construction standards.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in maintaining detailed records and documentation.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Relevant qualifications in building control, construction, or related fields.
