Through our exclusive partnership with SWECO Building Control, we are pleased to showcase an opportunity to join their experienced Birmingham team. This role involves working on some of the most prestigious commercial projects within the UK, alongside a team with extensive BC knowledge. They are open to surveyors at various levels, with a minimum requirement of class 2D, but also senior/principal surveyors at class 2F or class 3.

Key Responsibilities:

• Achieving specific objectives defined by others
• Working with the wider team to develop objectives using experience and collaboration to resolve issues
• Completing responsibilities in submitted bids
• Understanding the risk profile within contracts and generating new business opportunities
• Supporting the overall game plan and team objectives
• Developing technical skills
• Conducting thorough inspections of commercial buildings for compliance
• Assessing plans, specifications, and designs for legal compliance
• Managing large-scale technical projects with complex components
• Taking responsibility for contractual liabilities in bids
• Engaging with contacts to generate sales and relationships
• Supporting the development of technical team members
• Ensuring proposals and tenders follow the Sweco process

Job Requirements:

• Significant experience in Building Control, especially commercial schemes
• 2D or higher registration as a Building Inspector
• Strong understanding of building regulations and standards
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Detail-oriented record-keeping
• Ability to work independently and in teams
• Relevant qualifications in building control or related fields
• Salary up to £75,000 (DOE)
