3M is seeking an enthusiastic Industrial Placement Student for Inside Sales in the UK & Ireland. You will support prospecting, account research, lead generation, and sales materials while collaborating with marketing, product development and customer service.

The role includes event support and content management to drive opportunities. Ideal candidates are in the second year of a business degree with UCAS points, English fluency, and strong organizational skills.

Qualifications

• UCAS points >= 128 are required for entry.
• Currently in the 2nd year of a 4-year business degree.
• On track to achieve a minimum 2:1 in the degree.
• Fluent in English with strong written and spoken skills.
• Strong organization; can work independently or with others.

Responsibilities

• Support sales in prospecting and validating opportunities.

• Map new factory openings and provide leads to sales.
• Create a shared sales presentations repository with marketing and product teams.
• Communicate product info and promotions to the sales team with marketing.
• Support trade fairs across UK & Ireland; organize, follow up, and input leads in Salesforce.
• Assist Advisory Councils and Safety Days including invites and setup.
• Maintain 3M UK&I LinkedIn account; post approved content and promote events.
• Explore LinkedIn Navigator to enrich contacts; work with cross-functional teams.

Join our team as an Industrial Placement Student in Inside Sales (multiple roles)

Are you a curious and driven student eager to make a real impact in the world of inside sales? At 3M, we're looking for an enthusiastic Industrial Placement Student to join our dynamic inside sales team. This is your chance to collaborate with industry experts and gain invaluable experience in a global company renowned for innovation and excellence.

What You'll Do:

• Proactively support the sales organization in prospecting and validating opportunities at the account level.
• Research accounts across the UK & Ireland geography and validate account data such as the number of workers, industry, production, hazards, and investments.
• Map new factory openings across the UK & Ireland and provide leads to the sales organization
• Create a shared repository of sales presentations for each product, working with portfolio managers and the marketing organization.
• Communicate product information and promotions to the sales organization proactively, alongside the marketing organization, ensuring the sales team has all relevant information.
• Provide support in numerous trade fairs across the UK & Ireland, including organization, participation, lead follow-up, and upload into Salesforce (approximately 10 events per year).
• Assist on Advisory Councils and Safety Days (customer events requiring planning, invitations, registrations, and set-up).
• Maintain the 3M UK & Ireland LinkedIn account and post approved content. Promote webinars and events on LinkedIn.
• Explore LinkedIn Navigator to enrich account contacts as necessary.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product development, and customer service. Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas.

Your Qualifications:

• Received a minimum of 128 UCAS points in your ‘A’ Levels or equivalent qualifications
• Currently in the 2nd year of your 4-year business-related degree programme.
• On track to receive a minimum 2:1 in your degree
• Fluent in English, with excellent written and spoken communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Comfortable prioritising tasks and working to deadlines.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to act autonomously.
• Must be adaptable and hard working with a passion for learning.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, with the ability to create and manage documents, spreadsheets, presentations, and emails efficiently.
