IPS Group is supporting a major insurer by recruiting a Regional Underwriting Manager- Technical Lead. The role sits in the UK regional network with authority just below the Chief Underwriting Officer, shaping risk strategy and client outcomes.

You'll balance technical excellence with commercial pragmatism, lead regional underwriting teams, coach talent and collaborate with brokers, clients and senior leaders to drive profitable growth.

Qualifications

• Extensive commercial underwriting experience in the UK market.
• Strong Property and Casualty underwriting expertise across large and complex risks.
• Experience coaching and leading senior underwriting professionals.

Responsibilities

• Act as the senior regional authority for complex underwriting referrals and technical decisions.
• Support Branch Underwriting Managers in structuring solutions for high-value risks.
• Drive underwriting standards, governance and technical excellence across the region.
• Lead the development, coaching and technical capability of underwriting teams.
• Influence regional underwriting strategy to align with business goals.
• Support major tenders, strategic deals and complex client opportunities.
• Build and maintain strong broker, client and market stakeholder relationships.
• Analyse performance data to improve underwriting effectiveness and reduce referrals.
• Champion profitable growth while balancing risk and commercial outcomes.
