Job summary

IPS Group is recruiting a Regional Underwriting Manager- Technical Lead in the UK. The role sits at the top of the regional underwriting authority outside the central technical function, shaping technical standards and leading major client engagements.

You’ll partner with Branch Underwriting Managers and regional leaders to drive growth while maintaining underwriting discipline across high-value portfolios. ACII is preferred, with deep UK market experience.

Qualifications

• Extensive commercial underwriting experience in UK market.
• Strong Property and Casualty underwriting expertise on large/complex risks.
• Experience guiding programme placements and complex structures.
• Proven ability to make sound technical decisions in high-value situations.
• Experience coaching and influencing senior underwriting professionals.

Responsibilities

• Act as the senior regional authority for complex underwriting referrals and technical decisions.
• Support Branch Underwriting Managers in structuring solutions for high-value risks.
• Drive underwriting standards, governance and technical excellence across the region.
• Lead development and coaching of underwriting teams.
• Influence regional underwriting strategy and align with business objectives.
• Support major tenders and strategic deals with clients.
• Build strong broker, client and market stakeholder relationships.
• Analyze performance data to improve underwriting effectiveness.
