Job Description:
Regional Transport Manager
Salary: Up to £50K DOE
Location: North England and Scotland

The opportunity:
We are seeking a talented and dynamic Regional Transport Manager to join one of the UK’s largest and most respected gas suppliers. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact across Northern England and Scotland, where you will be one of three regional transport managers (throughout the UK) overseeing a fleet of over 100 vehicles.
As a Regional Transport Manager, your role is essential to the smooth running of operations, ensuring that the drivers are supported, motivated, and equipped to deliver a seamless service. With over 100 years of expertise, the company produces, packages, and distributes thousands of different types of gases daily. As the largest supplier of hospitality and medical gases, including life-saving oxygen and gases essential for MRI scanners, they are proud to play a critical role in supporting vital services across the country.
If you’re ready to take the next step in your career and join a thriving, forward-thinking company who makes a big impact, this is the perfect role for you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspire and Lead: Manage and motivate a team of drivers to deliver consistently high levels of service, ensuring they are well-equipped with the tools, skills, and support needed to succeed.
  • Drive Operational Efficiency: Oversee transport operations, manage costs, and implement improvements to optimise performance and streamline working practices.
  • Champion Safety and Compliance: Promote a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with all relevant health, safety, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Work cross-functionally to ensure seamless service delivery, explore new opportunities, drive growth, and enhance customer relationships.
  • Empower Your Team: Take the lead on recruiting, training, and developing your team, supporting their growth, encouraging collaboration, and helping them achieve strong and sustained performance.

What are we looking for
  • Experience in Transport or Logistics Management: Ideally bringing experience managing teams within a transport or logistics environment.
  • Strong Communication and Collaboration Skills: You’re confident in building positive relationships, influencing others, and working effectively across teams.
  • Effective Leadership: You have a talent for inspiring and developing others, encouraging teamwork, and driving high performance.
  • Commercial Awareness: A solid understanding of financial principles allows you to make informed strategic decisions that deliver real business impact.
  • A Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) is preferred.
  • Holding an ADR licence would be an advantage, though full training can be provided.

What’s in it for you:
  • Bonus Scheme
  • Company Car
  • 9% Company given pension
  • Healthcare trust – offering a comprehensive coverage of you and your dependents.
  • Life assurance
  • Access to multiple high street discounts
  • Career growth and learning development opportunities
  • Paid volunteering scheme
  • 33 days annual leave inclusive of bank holidays
