What you will be doing
MWI Animal Health UK: Founded by veterinarians, for veterinarians. MWI Animal Health, part of AmerisourceBergen (within the Fortune Top 10), has extensive experience delivering quality wholesale services, a secure supply chain, and business continuity for customers across the UK. We support veterinary practices, animal owners, manufacturers, and retailers with innovative practice technology and one of the largest group purchasing organizations.
The role of the Regional Team Manager is to support the National Transport Manager in running the UK transport operation effectively and compliantly. This includes managing daily operations to meet customer and cost demands, ensuring SLA’s and KPI’s are met or exceeded. The individual will hold an international or national CPC and be named on the relevant O-licence, with responsibilities including routine visits to UK locations to ensure compliance.
This role involves leading team members across the transport department. As a capable leader, your experience as a people manager will enable you to motivate both onsite and remote teams, ensuring high professional standards. You should be decisive, experienced in making sound judgments, and able to implement continuous improvement initiatives clearly and effectively. Collaboration with warehousing and distribution center teams is also essential.
The candidate should be compliance-savvy, familiar with MHRA regulations, GDP, GDPR, and driving laws.
- Oversee the complete employee lifecycle for team members.
- Effectively performance manage team members to foster an effective team environment.
- Conduct annual reviews and regular 121 check-ins, develop talent, and plan for succession.
- Manage daily managerial tasks such as holidays, timesheets, absences, investigations, and disciplinary meetings.
- Maintain a continuous improvement mindset, challenging the status quo where appropriate.
- Work with the national transport manager to develop annual budgets and manage costs in compliance with approved budgets.
- Manage depot costs, focusing on areas within influence.
- Ensure operations meet O-Licence requirements and conduct regular fleet audits.
- Ensure vehicle legal compliance, liaising with maintenance providers, managing VOR vehicles, and auditing standards.
- Ensure full compliance with distribution practices, health and safety, and other regulations.
- Carry out MHE checks, report faults, and ensure safety standards.
- Manage visitor controls, fire safety, first aid, and training in accordance with company policy.
- Ensure trained personnel are available for fire and first aid, and oversee training completion.
- Manage vehicle RTI’s and damages, focusing on driver training and vehicle pride, utilizing de-briefs for operational efficiency.
