Qualifications

  • At least five years’ experience in industrial electrical installation and maintenance.
  • Previous Solar PV maintenance experience is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of DC electrical systems and high-voltage equipment.

Job description

Astute’s Renewables are proud to be working with one of Europe’s leading solar O&M specialists, supporting their continued UK growth. We are now recruiting for a Regional Field Service Team Lead, a key leadership role focused on effective team coordination, performance management, and driving operational excellence across the field service team.

This role offers a salary of up to �45,000, along with a company vehicle and fuel card, and the opportunity to work within a supportive, expert-led environment focused on delivering high-quality service to large-scale solar assets.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Reporting to the Senior Management team, you will:

* Plan and allocate team resources effectively to meet operational goals.
* Review and analyse historic work orders to identify trends and improve performance.
* Monitor team KPIs and deliver regular feedback to drive continuous improvement.
* Support quotation preparation and review of technical procedures and equipment.
* Act as the key interface between Project Managers and on-site field teams.
* Provide technical guidance and day-to-day support to engineers and technicians.
* Deliver updates on policy or procedural changes clearly and consistently.
* Lead regular team meetings, 1-to-1 reviews, and performance appraisals.
* Source and assess local contractors to support peak workloads or special projects.
* Manage van stock and tooling levels to ensure field team efficiency.
* Support with O&M duties as required.

Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

* NVQ Level 3 Electrical Certification or equivalent.
* At least five years’ experience in industrial electrical installation and maintenance.
* Previous Solar PV maintenance experience is essential.
* Strong knowledge of DC electrical systems, high-voltage equipment, and occupational health & safety regulations.
* Proficiency in MS Office and Fiix or CMMS platforms would be an advantage.
* Full, clean UK driving licence.

Salary and benefits of the Field Service Engineer role

* Starting salary of �40,000 with �5,000 uplift for leadership duties.
