Qualifications

  • Minimum NEBOSH Certificate required.
  • Experience in SHEQ within utilities or construction sectors.
  • Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

  • Providing SHEQ support and advice for the Operating region.
  • Monitoring SHEQ performance at regional and project levels.
  • Investigating incidents and sharing lessons learned.

Skills

Knowledge of SHEQ management principles within utilities or construction sectors
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Excellent verbal, written, and face-to-face communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills

Education

NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent
IOSH membership (Associate, Tech, or Grad)

Job description

OCU has an exciting opportunity for a SHEQ Advisor to join us based in North Wales and the North West of England, supporting a broad range of projects.

We are seeking a SHEQ Advisor within the Regional SHEQ Team, responsible for supporting effective SHEQ delivery within the region. The role involves assisting operational management to keep our people, assets, and the environment safe from harm.

Duties And Responsibilities
  • Providing SHEQ support and advice for the Operating region
  • Monitoring SHEQ performance at regional and project levels
  • Reporting on performance, best practices, deficiencies, and areas for improvement
  • Supporting the development and implementation of improvement actions, initiatives, and plans
  • Reinforcing positive behaviors and challenging negative behaviors against our Mindset principles
  • Investigating incidents and sharing lessons learned
Skills And Experience
  • Knowledge of SHEQ management principles within utilities or construction sectors
  • NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent (minimum); IOSH membership (Associate, Tech, or Grad) and IEMA desirable
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to interact with company systems
  • Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel
  • Excellent verbal, written, and face-to-face communication skills
  • Professional, self-organized, and motivated to influence stakeholders
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build internal and external relationships
