Job summary

Mitie Group plc. seeks a vigilant Security Guard to cover DWP sites across the region. The role requires a full UK driving licence, with DS Licence preferred, and a commitment to high security and safety standards.

You will patrol, monitor for threats, respond to emergencies, and liaise with law enforcement while delivering excellent customer service to staff and visitors. Detailed incident records are expected.

Qualifications

• Licence required; DS Licence Preferred.
• Full UK driving licence required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a safe and secure environment for the DWP staff, visitors, and property.
• Patrol the premises regularly to identify potential security threats.
• Respond effectively to emergencies or suspicious situations.
• Liaise with local law enforcement and emergency services as needed.
• Provide a high level of customer service and assist staff and visitors in any security-related matter.
• Conduct routine security checks and submit incident reports as appropriate.
• Adhere to Mitie and DWP security policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Look out for, and to immediately report, any Health & Safety hazards, or potential hazards, on site.
• Stay alert to any threats or changes within the work environment to take the appropriate action to reduce the chance of disruption, loss or damage.
• Use common sense and initiative by immediately involving others if a situation appears to become threatening.
• To maintain professional conduct in the face of difficult situations and challenging customers.
• Complete an accurate, detailed notebook entry as soon as possible after any incident, which can then be used as part of the Incident Report process.
• Keep to schedules and demonstrate commitment to Mitie and the Client.
• To call emergency services and Communication Centre to report all incidents.
