As they continue to expand their global presence, they are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Regional Sales Manager to lead and support their sales efforts in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region.

About the role :

Reporting to the highly supportive and experienced Head of Sales for the region based here in Melbourne, as the Regional Sales Manager - APAC, you will be responsible for driving sales growth, managing key customer and distributor relationships, and developing strategic market initiatives across the region. This role requires a sound technical background, a deep understanding of the coatings, pigments or relevant segment, and a proactive approach to business development and strategic key account management planning.

  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to drive growth and expand market share in the APAC region.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, distributors, and industry partners.
  • Identify new business opportunities and develop customized solutions to meet customer needs.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to customers, ensuring the optimal application of products and solutions.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify industry trends, customer demands, and competitive positioning.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, marketing, and operations, to ensure seamless execution of sales strategies.
  • Represent The Shepherd Color Company at industry trade shows, conferences, and networking events.
  • Regularly report on sales performance, market trends, and business development initiatives to senior leadership.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of sales / key account management experience in the coatings, pigments, specialty chemicals or a related technical industry.
  • Proven track record of developing and growing key direct clients and distributor relationships.
  • Technical understanding of inorganic pigments and their applications is an advantage; however, not essential as technical training will be provided.
  • Be a real team player and be able to work cohesively in a small supportive team environment based here in the south-east suburbs of Melbourne.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel extensively across the APAC region.
  • APAC regional experience is not essential; however, will be highly regarded.
