Portfolio is pleased to be working with an industry-leading and award-winning employer who is looking to add an experienced, highly motivated Regional/Field Sales Manager, with a proven track record of improving sales performance, to join their successful national team. Offering a generous package of up to a 70k basic + 6k Car allowance/company car, with quarterly and yearly bonuses based on the performance of the BDMs in the region against revenue targets.

The business has grown significantly over the last 5 years, with an annual turnover of over 100 million and a diverse client base of over 40,000. They are looking to bring in an exceptional individual to help drive the expansion of their successful business model.

Reporting directly to the National Sales Director and managing a team of field-based BDMs in your assigned region, you will be tasked with developing business with SME/Medium employers providing solution-based HR business services.

You will also work closely with the Head of Telesales and Telesales managers to maintain a steady stream of high-quality appointments.

What You’ll Bring to the Organisation:

  • Proven track record of managing, coaching, and motivating a field sales team to hit sales targets.
  • Experience in leading high-performing sales teams, ideally with exposure to selling into the SME / Mid-Market.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to multi-task and manage sales processes and pipelines.
  • Highly numerate with the ability to quickly understand key figures impacting sales performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of the success of all new hires.
  • Ensure that the “New Hire Training Program” is explicitly implemented for all initial sales training.
  • Determine developmental levels and objectives for each BDM.
  • Develop new corrective action plans for each direct report, utilising directive and supportive coaching styles.
  • Work with the Sales Director to review performance regularly.
  • Plan and commit to a schedule with each BDM based on productivity and developmental level.
  • Utilise coaching and field evaluations for each field accompaniment.
  • Focus coaching on specific developmental objectives.
  • Conduct productive sales meetings focused on skill development.
  • Prepare and conduct semi-annual and annual reviews for all BDMs.

*Requires a full clean driving license. Regular driving is an essential element of the role.

*Must have flexibility to travel across the UK when required.
