As the first overseas subsidiary of BYD group, our main focus is to provide European customers with new energy vehicles, rechargeable batteries, solar panels, energy storage systems, and other new energy products, as well as related after-sales services.

About The Role

As the Regional Sales Excellence Specialist – UK & Ireland, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our UK & Ireland customer-facing teams are fully skilled and equipped to deliver consistently outstanding and meaningful customer experiences. This is a Northern-based role, meaning you will predominantly work with our Northern UK and Northern Ireland retailers. Our main goal is to empower European sales teams at all levels, with a focus on customer service and sales objectives.

You will localise, optimise, and deliver sales training materials and content to ensure that our digital, retail, and dealer-based sales teams have the necessary knowledge, skills, attitudes, and behaviours required to deliver excellence at every stage of our customer journey for passenger cars, from initial lead inquiry through to vehicle delivery and customer loyalty retention.

You will be expected to develop and execute high-quality and impactful sales training for each of our New Energy Vehicle (NEV) models available in Europe. The training will be delivered in-person or virtually online. As a result, this position requires a comprehensive understanding of how to effectively develop teams and individuals to deliver an exceptional customer experience.

You will also be deeply engaged with frontline sales, sales activation events, and other relevant projects to ensure that the skills and knowledge delivered in the training are up-to-date and beneficial to the sales activities happening in the field.

In addition to the above, you will also assume the role of Regional Training Partner in the UK & Ireland. This particular role requires close coordination with the sales, network development, and relevant teams in the NSC.

You will be a member of the European Customer Experience Department and report directly to the Regional Sales Excellence Lead UK/IE.

Main Tasks And Responsibilities
  1. Adapt the European Sales Excellence Master Plan (SEMP) and Certification Program to meet the specific needs of the UK & Ireland market.
  2. Deliver impactful, effective, and efficient sales and product training sessions and content, balancing digital, virtual, and physical learning methods.
  3. Manage the database of market dealer staff in Learning Platforms and Tools in close collaboration with the Training Coordination Team.
  4. Contribute to the development of the SEMP, including BYD Group introduction, brand insights, product knowledge, onboarding, sales and delivery skills, customer experience, and training validation/certification.
  5. Work with internal and external stakeholders and subject matter experts to determine training needs and quickly identify, build, and implement training solutions based on SEMP.
  6. Track and record all training interventions conducted in the market and provide monthly training reports in time as required for centralized Europe-wide reporting.
  7. Search for, control, and advise on possible external agencies for collaboration in development, execution, or consultancy.
  8. Provide ad-hoc performance coaching for team members or other English-speaking training programs where necessary.

Ideal Candidate Profile
  • Bachelor’s degree in automotive, marketing, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years' experience in a customer-focused training/coaching team or organization.
  • Customer-centric mindset aligned with our mission and a more sustainable future.
  • Excellent English language skills (knowledge of other European languages and/or Chinese is a plus).
  • Excellent coaching, training, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a proven track record of positive influence in teams.
  • In-depth knowledge and passion about the European automotive industry’s history, brands, products, and technologies.
  • Familiarity with digital tools such as Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite, with the ability to create/optimize digital and F2F content to support SEMP.
  • Ability to work in a rapidly developing, dynamic environment and partner effectively with cross-border/cultural teams.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time, mainly within the UK & Ireland retail network and with regular visits to BYD European HQ.
