Main Responsibilities/Overall Purpose
Saica Group provide sustainable recycled paper, corrugated cardboard and flexible packaging manufacturing solutions as well as solutions for waste management and the recovery of waste. Sustainability at Saica begins with our values – we care, we value and we challenge.
To drive profitable SFX sales growth by developing and implementing a clear Sales strategy focusing primarily on identified customer needs and supported by a strong market understanding, delivered by building and leading a motivated and effective Customer facing team utilising the Saica Flex Sales System (SFSS) as a foundation for success
Specific Tasks/Accountabilities
- Apply Group Policies: Equal Opportunities, Environment, Quality and Health & Safety.
- To lead and track SAICA FLEX sales activity for securing year-end target achievement, launching at earliest stage actions and/or sales projects to offset gaps if needed.
- To define, to share and to explain across their sales organisation a medium-term vision (strategy) to steer our daily commercial and marketing activity and related decision-making process.
- To support, supervise and track the medium term Regional/Site Marketing plans.
- To assure the annual sites sales budget exercise is aligned with our annual budgeting exercise and with our long-term goals.
- To assure we have the right organization and resources at each level.
- To secure the timely launch of any reporting to be shared with main SFX stakeholders.
- Utilise our SFSS sales approach across the Team to operate under a clearly defined methodology
- Supervise and track the adherence to SFSS procedures and methodology across their region
- Assist in Defining, implementing and tracking, in liaison with SAICA R+D+I, Innovation projects within their region/portfolio
- Participate as a Market/Customer information/needs provider to the R+D+I community
- Implement and monitor, with the support of HR, a fit-for-purpose organization, deploying our training and development programs to build an efficient and motivated Sales team.
- Act as Coach for direct reports and have clear development plans in place for each
- Supply Clear Performance feedback on their team in the People Review process and meetings.
- To lead through the Technical Support Function a focussed programme that delivers both existing customer growth and margin along with developing and qualifying new opportunities.
- Act as subject matter experts to support sales development and form technical relationships with both Customer Technical and OEMs to keep close the needs and movements of the market and advise on Capex/development requirements for future consideration.
- To Lead through the Customer Service Manager a team who champion the customer in Saica Flex and ensure a positive and compelling supplier status (measured via NPS).
- Ensure that timely and accurate information is available to both the Customer and Sales organisation and that a clear partnership is developed with Sales that delivers the best Customer experience in parallel with an effective and pro-active partnership dedicated to making Saica Flex the supplier of choice.
Undertake any other duties as requested by their line manager in accordance with the scope and the responsibilities of the role

Qualifications/training
- University degree in Economics, Engineering, Commerce/Marketing or similar
- Master in Commerce/Marketing
- Micro-economics (balance sheet, profit and loss account, etc.).
- Sales and negotiating techniques.
Professional experience
- 5-7 years’ experience as a Sales Director in industrial or mass consumption sectors.
- 3-5 years’ experience managing sales teams.
