Qualifications

  • Qualifications en santé et sécurité (NEBOSH Diploma minimum).
  • Membre de l'IOSH.
  • Expérience dans la gestion d'un système ISO 45001.

About the role

Regional Safety Partner

Role Overview:

As the Regional Safety Partner, you will take a leading role in managing and developing regional safety initiatives, including the depot and regional safety plans, to ensure we meet both organisational and regulatory standards. Working closely with operational teams, the Business Unit Director, and the regional People Partner, you will drive cultural improvements and promote a safe working environment, supported by the central safety assurance team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of the depot/regional safety plan, including workplace transport safety improvements, in collaboration with the Business Unit Director and operational teams.
  • Facilitate risk assessments and local workplace transport assessments, providing guidance on risk priorities and control measures.
  • Develop and communicate safe systems of work, ensuring effective implementation.
  • Lead root cause analysis on serious and high-potential incidents, using incident trends to inform safety strategies.
  • Oversee the regional assurance program and verify risk controls within depots.
  • Deliver regional Health & Safety training, including incident investigation, contractor management, and risk assessment.
  • Manage monthly Health & Safety performance reviews, tracking KPIs and safety improvement plans.
  • Handle safety aspects of operational risk and change projects, ensuring safety in new sites and activities.
  • Approve and sign off MHE specifications from local risk assessments.
  • Oversee safety in start-up plans for new sites, including training facilitation.
  • Implement and interpret new safety standards across the region.
  • Participate in regional warehouse and transport forums, promoting safety culture.
  • Lead EHO enforcement visits and manage resulting actions.
  • Conduct collaborative 'walk & talk' safety conversations with operational teams.

Jobholder Requirements:

  • Qualified Health & Safety Manager (NEBOSH Diploma minimum).
  • Membership of IOSH.
  • Experience managing an ISO 45001 system.
  • Ability to influence at all levels, especially senior management.
  • Credible presence at senior management level.
  • Proven experience managing change projects.
  • Strong knowledge of health & safety management theory and practice.
  • Excellent facilitation, coaching, and listening skills to support operational teams.
