Job description

Are you looking for an exciting, hands-on role that will kickstart your finance career and provide you with real-world experience? This Regional Finance Administrator position is a fantastic stepping stone for graduates, AAT studiers, or early-career finance professionals wanting to gain valuable experience in finance operations, audit, and business partnering.

This role is field-based, requiring you to travel regularly to supported living services across the South West and South East regions. You will be working onsite at multiple locations, reviewing and reconciling financial records, receipts, and spend to ensure accuracy and transparency. Because of the nature of this role, a valid driver's licence and access to a vehicle are essential, as you will be expected to drive frequently between sites, sometimes staying overnight with expenses covered.

This 6 to 9-month fixed-term contract offers a unique chance to build a varied and strong finance skillset that will open doors for future opportunities. Whether you want to continue in a travelling role or use this experience to move into a more local finance position closer to home, this job will give you the foundation to progress.

Key Responsibilities

  • Travel onsite regularly to supported living services across a wide geographic area, building strong working relationships with local teams and becoming the trusted finance presence onsite
  • Review and audit financial documentation including receipts, cash withdrawals, card transactions, and personal spend reports, ensuring all spend is accurately recorded and matched to supporting evidence
  • Reconcile cash and card transactions against central finance records, identifying and investigating any discrepancies or irregularities to maintain financial integrity
  • Conduct detailed audits on personal monies to ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards, providing clear and concise feedback to managers and finance teams
  • Prepare and present audit findings using structured reports, highlighting any trends, concerns, or potential risks such as unusual spending or possible fraud
  • Work collaboratively with service teams, acting as a business partner to provide insight and support around financial processes and controls
  • Manage your own schedule effectively, balancing travel commitments with the need to complete detailed reviews for 3-5 locations per day, building excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Be adaptable and proactive, working independently while liaising remotely with senior finance staff and service managers to escalate issues and ensure timely resolution
  • Develop transferable skills in audit, reconciliation, financial analysis, stakeholder communication, and compliance - all highly valued across finance and accounting roles

Candidate Requirements

  • Finance graduate, AAT studier, or early-stage finance professional seeking hands-on experience
  • Comfortable working with numbers, receipts, and reconciliation processes
  • Strong communicator and confident working with a range of teams
  • Owns a vehicle and willing to travel regularly between sites
  • Comfortable with occasional overnight stays when required

Benefits & Opportunities

  • Gain broad exposure to finance operations, audit, and business partnering in a fast-paced environment
  • Mileage, accommodation, and meals fully paid for travel and overnight stays
  • Supportive management and structured onboarding process
  • Strong chance of contract extension or permanent employment within this or other teams
  • Valuable experience to progress your career locally or in wider finance roles
