Job summary

Balfour Beatty plc is recruiting a Plant Operations Specialist to act as the regional expert for plant, equipment and vehicles on major energy projects across Scotland. Based from Glasgow or Inverness, you will forecast, plan and optimise plant requirements, support procurement and cost control, and ensure projects run safely and cost effectively.

Qualifications

• Experience coordinating plant, fleet or equipment within construction, utilities, infrastructure, rail, civils or energy.
• Knowledge of plant hire, mobilisation, utilisation and off-hire processes.
• Strong organisational and planning skills with ability to manage multiple project demands.

Responsibilities

• Act as the key point of contact for all plant-related matters across Scottish Power T&D projects.
• Forecast, plan and coordinate plant requirements with project teams.
• Monitor plant utilisation to maximise efficiency and reduce spend.
• Support specification, sourcing and mobilisation of plant, equipment and vehicles.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders, suppliers and plant providers to resolve issues.
• Support project budgets, cost recovery and hire management.
• Identify cost-saving and continuous-improvement opportunities in plant operations.
• Visit project sites to build relationships and provide operational support.
• Provide regional support on fleet and PPE-related matters when required.
