Job summary

The Planner Jobs Redactive Publishing Limited is seeking an Associate Director-level planning professional to lead the Leeds presence and shape growth across Yorkshire. You will own client relationships, win new business and manage a high-calibre planning team from a Leeds base.

You will lead high-quality planning advice, develop senior client connections, and represent the consultancy at events and meetings across the region, with occasional travel to Kent and London.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in a private planning consultancy.
• Experience at Associate Director, Senior Associate or equivalent.
• Strong track record of delivering planning advice and managing complex projects and client relationships.
• Commercially minded with experience in business development, winning work and developing client accounts.
• Established network and knowledge of the Leeds/Yorkshire planning market.
• Strong understanding of local authorities and the regional development landscape.
• Confident representing a consultancy independently with clients and authorities.
• Self-starter with leadership to grow a regional operation.
• Able to commute to Leeds regularly and travel to Kent/London.

Responsibilities

• Take a senior leadership role in establishing and developing the Leeds and Yorkshire presence.
• Act as a key representative, building a strong profile and reputation.
• Lead delivery of high-quality planning advice and complex projects for clients.
• Develop and maintain senior-level client relationships as a trusted adviser.
• Identify and secure new business opportunities and own regional development.
• Represent the consultancy at meetings, networking events and industry forums.
• Leverage the Yorkshire network to generate new instructions and long-term relationships.
• Shape the future growth of the Leeds team and support recruitment.
• Provide guidance to junior colleagues and contribute to team development.
• Contribute to the wider strategic direction and growth of the consultancy.
• Raise the business profile through networking and industry activity.
• Travel periodically to Kent and London to maintain relationships.
